Abuja at Night

Hello friendsI thought I should share this with you.I came to Abuja for the first time in October last year and resumed for work immediately. It was challenging at first because I had to manage the Digital Department of a press(the people I met had their own way of doing things) I mean the task was enormous. Also, everything about the job was urgent. I had no choice but to adjust. At a point I needed to show some creativity so as to remain relevant to the job.My mother taught me basic things I needed to know about photography. Mr. Segun Akisanya (Studio 7, Abeokuta) taught me advance skills in photography giving me magazines to read.It was time to design a calendar for the company but I was out of ideas. until I saw a calendar that sparked off this idea that had been with me for many years. Dr. Bisi Ogunjimi was indeed a motivator of this idea. He encouraged me about 9 years ago when I was still into active photography to take the night shots I had dreamt of doing. I wonder why it has taken me so long to actualise this dream.I almost gave up the idea one but for my wife who gave me reasons not to. I appreciate her presence in my life. She is in-deed God's gift.It took 4 nights across 3wks to take the pictures. The earliest we ever got home was 12am. On one occasion it was 1am, and during such nights we were either harassed by mobile police or by soldiers, infact, we nearly did "frog Jump" at the city gate of Abuja. The following people supported me during those nights: Tochukwu Ifemena, Gabriel Akpeh, Henry Ojaide, Japheth Nwafor. To cut the long story short, I present to you what I renamed The Night Shift. The Quality of the pictures have been reduced so as to discourage an undue advantage of it for profit reasons.A higher resolution is available on demand at havitouch@yahoo.com
